Before you travel abroad, we recommend you obtain an International Driver Permit. It is valid in over 150 countries and contains your name, photo and driver information in ten different languages. These permits, available through AAA, are valid for one year.
Apply at a Branch Office
To order an International Driving Permit, just visit one of our
branch offices. Bring two original passport-size photos,
your valid U.S. driver's license, and the $15 permit fee payable
to AAA.
Apply Via Mail
If you wish to secure your permit through the mail, enclose the completed application, the $15 permit fee payable to AAA, two passport-size photosand a photocopy of your valid U.S. driver's license. Mail them to the AAA branch office closest to you. Please allow 10 business days for processing.

Passport Photos
Passport photos are available at all of our branch locations. Original passport photos must be 2" x 2" and less than 6 months old with a white background. Copies of photos will not be accepted whereas digitally produced photos printed on photo quality paper are acceptable.
