Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa

By Tom Crosby

This is the Grand Dame of mountain hotels, with its native granite stone construction and sweeping views of valleys and hills. A 510-room hotel with a AAA Four Diamond rating, it boasts an enormous great room with a fireplace, bar and a spectacular view from the Sunset Terrace.
It recently underwent a major rennovation and recently added a 40,000 square foot, $13 million world-class spa.

The Grove Park Inn's sense of history and style is similar to the nearby Biltmore Estate built 28 years earlier. Many visitors to Biltmore stay at the Grove Park as part of their immersion in the grandeur or earlier times.

Elaine D. Sammons, owner of the Grove Park Inn, quoted E. W. Grove, who founded the Inn, when she talked about the spa and said it was "built not for the present alone, but for the admiration of generations yet unborn."
The Grove Park is responding to an industry-wide trend.

Keeping competitive with other resort/spas, the Grove Park has 20 multi purpose rooms for body services.

The spa is open to the public on a space and service available basis.

HORIZONS
Horizons, the formal dining room of the Grove Park Inn, with innovative classic cuisine, is also rated Four Diamonds by AAA. This restaurant specializes in wild games dishes rarely found in other Asheville area restaurants.
