Spring Fling is the City of Spartanburg's longest running festival. The City and the Spartanburg Arts Center presented the very first spring Fling the first Saturday in May in 1978.
Spring Fling is an arts, crafts, culinary and music festival that celebrates the community and downtown Spartanburg. The event always strives to offer "something for everyone." There is a wide variety of musical performances, children and teen activities, art and street markets, loads of food and drink, and many more specialized activities. The festival also presents an opportunity for non-profit organizations, schools, churches and associations to show the community how to get involved.
Spring Fling entertainment ranges from local acts to national performers. Festival goers enjoy everything from local clogging groups to performances by "stars" like Country music star Sara Evans and singer/songwriter Edwin McCain.
