The exhibits of the new North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences look at the natural world through the distinct lens of North Carolina's diverse geography, geology, plants and animals. By exploring our own backyards and taking a closer look at the familiar, we can better understand the world and our place in it as we learn about North Carolina's global connections. In this way, the Museum becomes a window on the world.

Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries

October 26, 2007 – March 2, 2008
Admission: TBA
The American Museum of Natural History, NY has partnered with the museum and three other prominent institutions to develop this groundbreaking new traveling exhibition, revealing how current thinking about dinosaur biology has changed dramatically over the past two decades. Highlights include exploring cutting-edge research by leading paleontologists from around the world, presenting the most up-to-date look at how scientists are reinterpreting the most puzzling mysteries of the dinosaurs- how they looked, how they behaved, how they moved- and ultimately the hotly debated theories of how and why they became extinct.
