The Omni Hotel, surrounded by the financial district and just a 15-minute
drive from the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, is the place banking executives choose to stay when visiting Charlotte.
Leisure travelers also flock to the Omni, appreciating its proximity to the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, Bank of America stadium and home of the Carolina Panthers, and the Charlotte Convention Center. The AAA rated Four Diamond 374-room hotel is the only Omni in the state, but location isn’t its only attraction.
Revamping Space
Guestrooms are luxurious, having just undergone a $4 million renovation. Now revamping hallways, public rooms and the restaurant to achieve a zen/nature-like atmosphere with hues of browns, the Omni is striving for a timeless look.
Part of the Bank of America Corporate Center, the Omni has a marble-floored lobby with a baby grand piano and red lounging couches and chairs. It is connected to the Overstreet Mall’s 30-plus stores, boutiques and restaurants.
Room Choices
Guests have several room designs to choose from, almost all with great views,
350-count cotton sheets and duvets, 24-hour room service, waffle-weave robes, satin hangers and a full-sized ironing board. Turndown service includes two chocolates and a convenient weather card.
A coffee maker with Wolfgang Puck coffee and a free 8-ounce Deer Park water bottle are welcome amenities. Institute Swiss toiletries are in the bathroom, and a hairdryer and magnifying mirror are available.
Those who sign up for the free Select Guests Program receive free, high-speed wireless Internet access and wakeup service.
Keeping Fit
Fitness options include choosing a Get Fit Guest Room with a portable treadmill and healthy snacks in the refreshment center, working out at a health club in the building, for $15 a day, or using the free second floor workout room with two treadmills and two Stairmasters. Swimmers can use the hotel’s rooftop pool year-round, with a poolside bar in the summer. |
