The 40,000-square-feet spa, which recently won five reader choice awards from Spa Finder magazine, opened in 2001, and has become as much an attraction as the 510 room, 93-year-old historic mountain resort.
During a recent visit, a single $150 weekend fee included a 50 minute massage in one of 20 treatment rooms, all-day access to a gender-specific sauna, steam room and contrast plunge. Mixed gender access included a 10,000-gallon mineral pool, lap pool, outside hot tub, exercise room and fireside lounge.
Monk-like terry cloth robes provide privacy and comfort (slippers included), a wide selection of teas are offered and soft music wafts in the background everywhere.
