Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is a natural haven in the midst of Walt Disney World's® often hectic pace. Its not unusual to see rabbits, squirrels, and even deer outside your door.

The activities found here boggle the mind, and are especially appealing to kids. There's a petting zoo, a horse barn that offers trail and pony rides (you can even visit the blacksmith that shoes the trolley horses from the Magic Kingdom®), a superb nature trail, hayrides, and a nightly campfire program featuring marshmallows, Disney movies, and a visit from Chip and Dale. You can bike, fish, canoe, and play tennis, horseshoes and shuffleboard here. The very popular dinner show, the Hoop-De-Doo Revue takes place at Fort Wilderness's Pioneer Hall.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Cabins offer a quaint, rustic escape in surrounding reminiscent of the log homes from pioneer days. There is a separate living and bedroom. The bedroom has a double bed and a set of bunk beds, the living area contains a sleeper sofa. The Cabin will accommodate up to six persons and one child under the age of 3. They also feature a full kitchen with dining area and an outdoor patio deck with a picnic table. There is daily housekeeping, too. They'll even do the dishes for you! Now that's roughing it!

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort has its own internal transportation system. You can't drive a car around the resort itself. Bikes and electric carts can be rented for use within the resort. A water launch is available to the Magic Kingdom® Park and Disney's Contemporary Resort, which is pleasant and efficient. Buses take you everywhere else. You can also walk, bike or bus to the facilities available at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Villas.
