Victorian themes, gingerbread accents, and soothing pastels capture the essence of an early 1900s Key West community at Disney's Old Key West Resort.

Disney's Old Key West Resort was built as the original vacation club resort for Walt Disney World®. Its accommodations, therefore, are condo-like and offer studios, one, two and three bedroom floor plans - the largest can sleep up to 12. All have kitchen facilities and the one, two and three bedroom units contain washer/dryers.

The furnishings are Florida casual and all rooms have balconies or porches. In fact, the entire resort has a casual Florida old-fashioned village ambience. The Conch Flats Community Hall functions very much like a real community hall and offers table tennis, board games, playing cards, and a large screen TV. There is an activity director and regularly scheduled games and such.

Olivia's Cafe is quite good and has the feeling of a local, small-town eatery. It features Key West favorites (of course!) and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There's also a quick service eatery with the standard fare, but they also offer a non-traditional finger food, conch fritters!

The biggest drawback to Disney's Old Key West Resort is its sprawling layout. The resort is composed of more than 40 clusters of buildings! A location near the Hospitality House (which houses check-in, restaurants, shopping, main pool, etc.) can be beneficial to those feet tired from park hopping. Many of Disney's finest golf courses are nearby, so this resort is a haven for golfers.

Buses are the transportation mode. If you want shorter commute times to anywhere in the 'World', have a car.
