The Polynesian Resort

Disney's Polynesian Resort is one of Walt Disney World's® original resorts. As such, it offers a premier location and spacious rooms. It is located on the monorail between Disney's Grand Floridian and Contemporary Resorts, bordering the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Disney's Polynesian Resort is Polynesia, or about as close as you can get without leaving the U.S. Lush, tropical landscaping extends indoors to the Great Ceremonial House which contains a waterfall and the birdsongs of the tropics. Check-in, Guest Services, restaurants, and shopping are located here.

The resort is navigated by meandering paths, splendidly landscaped with native tropical plants and lit by torches at night (very romantic!). The white sand beach, plus the detailed South Pacific architecture combine to create a truly tropical paradise.

Guest rooms are located in eleven 'longhouses' named for Pacific islands. First-floor rooms have a patio and most upper-floor rooms have balconies (but not all, if you must have a balcony, request it when booking). The rooms are a bit more spacious here than in other deluxe resorts. Typically, they contain two queen beds plus a daybed and sleep five (plus a child under three in a crib). There are great views of the Electrical Water Pageant that takes place on the Seven Seas Lagoon nightly, as well as the Magic Kingdom® Park fireworks. The Neverland Club is located here, the 'World's' most popular children's program. It's so loved by the children it cares for; parents complain they can't get their little ones to leave!

There are two full service restaurants, plus several lounges and a 24 hour burger/snack bar. The main restaurant is Ohanas. Ohanas offers a fun family dinner - hula hoop and coconut rolling are held for the children during dinner. There is a character breakfast here every morning. Ohanas also offers spectacular views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom® Park fireworks if you time it right.

There are two heated pools, the larger one, near the marina and beach is volcano-themed and sports a waterslide. There's a kiddie pool nearby and a health club and water-based activities are available.

Disney's Polynesian Resort boasts a loyal clientele, with families returning year after year. That's a testament to its terrific family atmosphere and convenient monorail location.
