Dinner Shows

Walt Disney World offers three, very different, dinner shows. They all feature unique, top-notch entertainment, good food and a generous dash of Disney magic.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground – Pioneer Hall FS D $$$
The Hoop-de-Doo Revue is held nightly – it’s so popular they are up to three shows per night! The entertainment is a mix of country-western hoedown and vaudeville comedy. The performers are enthusiastic and there’s lots of audience participation. The food follows the country theme and includes all-you-can-eat servings of fried chicken, corn-on-the cob and strawberry shortcake. Make your advanced reservations as early as you can for this popular show. Fort Wilderness is not the easiest place to get to – especially if you are using Disney’s internal transportation – so leave plenty of travel time, making sure you arrive about 30 minutes before your scheduled showtime.

Mickey’s Backyard Barbecue Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground – The Outdoor Pavilion B D $$$
Hosted by various Disney characters in their cowboy finery, this dinner show is just rambunctious fun. The music is provided by a country band and there is line dancing with the characters. Barbecue ribs, chicken, corn-on-the-cob and other picnic favorites provide the nourishment here. You’ll need it – it’s hard to stay in your seat between the character greetings, the music and the dancing. A great gig for groups and families with younger children. This dinner show is held under an outdoor, sheltered pavilion so no worries about rain, but it runs seasonally to avoid any colder weather. Call 407-WDW-DINE or ask your AAA Travel Professional if it will be held during the time of your visit.

The Spirit of Aloha Disney’s Polynesian Resort FS D $$$
The entertainment at this show is best categorized into two parts: the first part, a musical “play” about a Polynesian family rediscovering their island roots. The second part, which takes place towards the last 45 minutes of the show is full of traditional luau entertainment: dancers in traditional costume, native drummers and fire walkers. The menu includes ribs, chicken, vegetables – standard picnic-type fare but here it’s enhanced with flavors inspired by traditional Polynesian cooking. The seating is in an open-air dining theater so the show can be cancelled due to inclement weather.
