Don’t be shy about getting to know your servers. They are a wealth of information and are there to make you as happy as they possibly can. It’s OK to ask questions about menu items and always ask for their recommendations. They’ve tried everything on the menu and they know what’s good – and what’s not.
You wait staff consists of three crew members: the Head Server supervises your wait staff and attends to any special needs you may have; your Server discusses the menu, takes your order and makes sure everything is to your liking; and your Assistant Server serves your food and drinks, clears the table and helps your Server attend to your every need.
All of your wait staff should be tipped at the end of the cruise. The standard gratuity for your Server is $3-$4 per night, for your Assistant Server it’s $2-$3 per night and for the Head Server it’s $1.00 per night. Of course, gratuities are solely at your discretion. If you feel you’ve received service beyond your expectation, reward the staff by giving a larger tip. On the other, hand if the service was below your expectations, don’t feel that you are tied to the standard gratuity level. |
